MORNING PRESCHOOL SCHEDULE
8:30am onwards - arrival 
We have a flexible start to our program to accommodate the needs of your family. You may arrive any time from 8:30am onwards. However, we prefer that you arrive by 9:00am so that your child has enough time to settle in and enjoy the activities before we move on to circle time or Musikgarten class on the appropriate day. Children are encouraged to greet each other, converse with staff members and become comfortable with the environment. This is a time when children can share news with an adult. Children then make their job selection and move on to work time.
Work Time
Children choose one job from a selection of activities such as: play table (sand), lacing shapes, play dough, wood blocks, dramatic play (kitchen), science table (magnets), bristle blocks, and the reading and writing center. Children are encouraged to stick with their choice for 5 minutes, and then are free to move to other activities where there is room.
9:00-9:45am Musikgarten
Once a week, small groups of children go over to the studio to participate in a Musikgarten class.
9:30am Circle Time
This time focuses on music - singing, rhythm instruments, fingerplays and movement.
9:50am Snack
A healthy snack is provided, such as fruit, cheese, crackers and juice.
10:10am Outside Play Time
As we use a covered outdoor play area, outdoor play can take place most days.
10:45am Story Time
Sharing books and stories together.
11:00am Activity Time
Any special activities are planned for this time. This may be related to a story or an ongoing topic. Some activities are seasonal in nature and others are favorite activities.
Children who wish to participate in the special activities may do so, others may choose from activities such as: duplo, waffle blocks, sewing, painting, dominoes, dress up clothes, puzzles, and the reading and writing center.
11:50am Quiet Time
Children may choose to read quietly, draw or write in their journals. Entended day children (T - Th) move to the Studio for lunch.
12 noon Departure
Parents should arrive promptly.
EXTENDED DAY ON TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS
*Preschoolers who attend OASIS on Tuesday and Thursday mornings may stay for the extended day by joining the Kindergarten Enrichment program. *Preschoolers who do do not attend in the mornings on these days may arrive at noon for the afternoon session. All children should bring a packed lunch. Other than the Musikgarten class, Music Makers - At the Keyboard, which is only offered for children attending Kindergarten, preschoolers participate in the same activities as the Kindergartem children.

12 noon Lunch in the Studio.
Children should bring a packed lunch.
12:30pm Outside Play Time
This time will include free play plus a variety of organized group games and activities to develop coordination, balance and ball handling skills.
1:00pm French
Children participate in the French class with the Kindergarteners and enjoy quiet free play for the rest of this session.
1:40pm Snack Time
Children are responsible for set up and clean up of snack. They serve themselves from a healthy variety of snacks.
2:00 Activity Time
A variety of activities are available, including at least one of the following:
art * math * science * literacy
We integrate reading and writing activities wherever they can be used in a meaningful way during this session. This is a large block of time which allows children to enjoy free play while continuing to develop social skills to make choices in their play and cooperate with others.
3:00pm Journals
All children record and illustrate some activity in which they participated during the day.
3:15pm Departure
Please arrive promptly to allow teachers to finish their end of session work.
