KINDERGARTEN ENRICHMENT
11:15am onwards Lunch in the studio and Free Exploration
Children who arrive directly from morning Kindergarten should bring a packed lunch. A variety of quiet activities such as puzzles, lego, and board games are available for children to enjoy as they finish lunch.
12:30pm Outside Play
This block of time includes both free play and some organized activities such as group games, skipping, ball handling skills and hopscotch.
1:00pm Musikgarten and French (20 minutes each class) small group instruction
Music Makers - At the Keyboard includes:
- singing
- keyboard practice
- musical literacy
- movement
French includes:
- singing in French
- vocabulary
- games
- literacy activities
1:40pm Snack Time
Children are responsible for set up and clean up of snack, and serve themselves from a healthy selection of snacks.
2:00pm Activity Time
A variety of activities are available during work time, including at least one of the following:
art * math * science * literacy
We will integrate reading and writing activities wherever they can be used in a meaningful way during this session. This is a large block of time, which will also allow children to enjoy free play while continuing to develop social skills to make choices in their play and cooperate with others.
3:00pm Journal Time
Each child has a journal where they record and illustrate some activity in which they participated during the afternoon.
3:15pm Departure
Parents should arrive promptly.
